Plastic Shutters Are Bad In Las Vegas

In Las Vegas, we deal with extreme heat in the summertime. Many people who do not live here are unaware that we also deal with temperatures that can go below freezing in the winter, so our homes must be able to handle all types of weather extremes both hot and cold, and be able to keep the weather on the other sides of the walls of our houses. While the freezing temperatures are really not all that much of an issue and we rarely get snow, the heat is something that most people are not used to. For this reason, you need to make informed decisions as far as the additions to your home, so as not to make mistakes that you may regret. A perfect example of this is the installation of plantation shutters, and the pitfalls that can happen if you choose the wrong ones. People from elsewhere in the country are aware of the benefits of plantation shutters for saving heat and air conditioned air by providing a solid barrier, but many will mistakenly assume that all plantation shutters are the same and provide the same levels of protection. These materials may be cheaper and look fine on install day, but will generally need to be replaced within only a few years.  Many people believe they are saving money when they choose the cheaper shutters only to be disappointed later when they find that warping and splitting is not covered by a warranty in Las Vegas.

Only install shutters made from good quality basswood in Las Vegas.  It is a very hard wood and is able to withstand great deals of heat before it would ever crack, so it is the material that is best suited for our climate.  The dry conditions will also not effect basswood shutters over time. You should find that your basswood shutters pay for themselves over time with savings on heat or air conditioning bills, and will last a lifetime.
